You Know You've Outstayed Your Welcome When...

So, how long have I been here in the U.S.? Well, I first moved to Richmond, Virginia in April of 1996. Then I moved to Denver at the end of January 1998. And then on to Castle Rock in September 2002. So, I suppose it had to happen sooner or later. It happened yesterday.

In the mail, along with my usual plethora of flyers like REI and MacMall and such, I received a notice from the Douglas County Combined Court. That's right: My first jury summons! On Friday, January 12th, I will have to report for jury duty.

But it should be a real short visit. How can I be so sure? Well, I have to complete a questionnaire to determine if there's some reason I should be disqualified. (Please refrain from any comments from the peanut gallery). And I satisfy the very first statement: "I am not a citizen of the United States."

Perhaps someday (with the help of my Sunshine). But not on January 12th, 2007...

Starting Today... A New Feature: The Daily Craig Ferguson Fix

{Only available the day after a weekday. And if I get around to it, at that!}

I Haven't Posted In So Long... Does Anybody Still Visit?

Yes, I'm still alive. And I should have some time Sunday evening (Spamel is hosting GAB) to actually add some real postings here. But I've come to realize that this blog has become yet another corner of webspace for me to neglect. Any suggestions to avoid this are welcome. To make matters worse, I've joined MySpace and have more neglecting to look forward to. Oh well...

"IT HAS BEGUN!"

So, yeah, my inaugural Blogger posting begins with a quote from Mortal Kombat. Just be glad I chose that and not a cheesy Lord Rayden line.

I've finally decided to join many of my friends who blog here after being resistant to the notion of doing it myself for so long. I just didn't see having much to post about on a frequent basis. But I finally cracked after it was suggested by Spamel that this could be a venue for me to post about things that don't get much coverage on the Web: places to hike, 4-wheel drive trails, camping and backpacking stories, etc. Frequently, the topics of my posts will veer (far) from these areas, especially when I need to rant but hopefully people searching the 'Net for such things can gleam some info from this blog.

So, on that note, coming soon: Camping, Hiking, And Unexpected Four-Wheeling In The Lost Park Wilderness...
